About the Sun SPARC Enterprise M3000 Server
The Sun M3000 single processor, 2RU entry-level server inherits the mission-critical features of the M-series Enterprise family, delivering extreme RAS performance. The Sun M3000 server is powered by the new SPARC64 VII processor. The Sun M3000 is equipmed with SPARC64 VII features: 2.52-GHz processor, with two threads per core, adn 5 MB of on-chip L2 cache. The Sun M3000 Server delivers mainframe-class performance to customers who require the best relaiability to manage back-office applications. The M3000 server has a 2 rack units (2U) enclosure, which realizes the space-saving and the lightness in weight. The Sun M3000 server significantly improves the energy consumption efficiency, and reduces the system power consumption to 470W. Mounted with a high-performance processor adopting energy-saving technology the the SPARC64 VII processor enhances the processing performance and at the same time reduces the power consumption. In addition the server comes with improved cooling and power efficiency. Suns M3000 sever is equipped with an air duct and a backflow prevention shutter unit which optimize the airflow within the chassis and realize high cooling efficiency. Moreover, the server uses power supply units with good power efficiency, reducing power consumption.
Other features include multiple-step fan speed control. The fan speeds are finely adjusted according to the altitude and the ambient temperature at the installation site of the server. Such adjustments reduce noise and realize quiet operation well suited for the office environment as well as reducing power consumption. Powered with a high performance server enhanced with the latest architecture SPARC64 VII processor provides superior performance, with two or four cores each of which can execute 2 threads. In addition, the Error Checking and Correction (ECC) function and the instruction retry function provide high reliability and high availability. The server is equiped with PCI Express (PCIe) as an I/O bus ports. The PCIe bus having a band of up to eight lanes is used for the interconnect bus with the I/O device. The servers expandable hard disk drives, fan units, and power supply units support redundant configuration and active/hot replacement. In a redundant configuration, the system can be operated continuously even if one of the components fails. Faulty components can be maintained/replaced without stopping the system.
Adirondack Networks Hardware Warranty:
Depot warranty includes telephone support and defective part replacement. Warranty period is 30 days from date of sale on computer components, configured refurbished workstations and servers. Telephone support and RMA department assistance is available between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time), Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. Warranty is void on items termed "as is" basis.
Extended Hardware Maintenance Warranty:
The extended warranty period must be purchased in 12-month increments. An extended warranty is available and may be purchased at the time of sale, during, or at the end of an existing warranty time period.
Warranty Repair:
If a component part or system becomes defective outside of the warranty period, Adirondack Networks shall charge a nominal fee for evaluation and repair of the defective part. Any replacement or additional parts needed for repair shall be billed to the customer. Customers will be given a quote on repair costs prior to a repair being completed.
